Subject: Notice of Practice’s New Ownership
I am writing to share some important news regarding the future of your eye care on Maui. After a great deal of thought, I have made the decision to transition ownership of my Maui practice, Eyesight Hawaii – Maui, to retina and cataract surgeon Dr. Eugene Ng, M.D., effective September 1, 2026.
Dr. Ng will continue to operate the practice at the same Maui location. This transition reflects my confidence that you will continue to receive the high standard of care that you have come to expect. I am especially pleased to share that Dr. Monika Malecha will be remaining with the practice and will continue to see patients without interruption, ensuring a familiar face for your ongoing care. You will also have the opportunity to be seen by Dr. Ng, who brings excellent training and a strong dedication to patient care. He will expand our existing services to include glaucoma and retina surgery. I am confident that Dr. Ng will be a wonderful resource for the Maui community, and I encourage you to give him a warm welcome.
Your medical records will be maintained by Dr. Ng at this location. However, if you would like to arrange for a transfer of your medical records to another provider, please don’t hesitate to contact our office at the number provided below.
It has been one of the great privileges of my career to serve as your ophthalmologist. I am deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in me, and I leave this practice in Maui knowing it is in capable and caring hands.
